Social Studies Department Curriculum Overview

At BHSVA, our Social Studies Department offers a comprehensive learning experience aligned with the Next Generation Education Standards.

Students are encouraged to explore, question, and collaborate as they develop a deep understanding of historical and social concepts. Each course builds critical thinking skills, civic knowledge, and real-world application skills.

To graduate from high school, students must earn a total of 8 Social Studies credits.
